Arevig Antablian
ARTISAN NAME: Arevig Antablian
CREATIONS: Toys, Amigurumi, Crochet Keychains
ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I learnt to crochet from my grandmother when I was 9 years old. The girls my age that used to live on the same street as I, used to get together to crochet gifts for our teachers. Those are fond memories that i'll never forget. Crocheting was a socializing and relaxing activity then and continues to be so now for me. With a computer science background in my education and career, logic takes center stage. Crocheting helps to foster a creative side in me that I've found to be very enjoyable and rewarding. This, combined with my love of spending time with kids, is what drew me toward making toys, bag/car charms, keychains and so on. To top it all, now our little nieces look forward to finding out what I've made every chance they get and seeing their excitement is reason enough to continue doing this. Building new fond and unforgettable memories continues.
CONNECTION TO FABMO: I want to add that FabMo plays a big part in this whole process with their vast selection of fabric, yarn, and arts and crafts materials available for everyone from all walks of life. It is a place where you meet people with similar interests, exchange ideas, and learn new things from each other. Finally, the Artisan Market, a platform where we can showcase all that. So, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there enjoying the experience.
