ARTISAN STATEMENT: At the FabMo Artisans Market, I will be selling sustainable and refashioned clothing, tote bags, jewelry, notebooks/journals, and hats. I will be using fabrics, embroidery floss, embellishments, vintage trims, jewelry, buttons, upholstery samples, papers, and notebooks that I purchased at FabMo over the last year.
I am new to Fabmo and find some really cool treasures every time I go. On my last visit I purchased a dress form that I pin scraps & snippets of trims to so that I can practice sustainability when I create. I challenge myself to use something from the snippet dress form for every project. I am a retired elementary school teacher and California citrus farmer. Since retiring from teaching, I began my creative business, Fruitful Life Studio. Now I rescue and refashion clothing for a shop in Soquel, California and I am a traveling workshop instructor, as well as offer online self-study workshops in sustainable textile arts.
